“I make art to show my soul that I am listening”
Hi, I’m Andrea Lopez, an artist living in Vancouver, Washington. I grew up in Colombia and have spent half my life in the U.S., carrying pieces of both cultures in everything I create.
As a self-taught artist, my path has been an unconventional one. Before becoming a full-time painter, I spent many years working as a pediatrician—but art has always been my first love. Returning to it has been one of the greatest joys of my life.
I create mixed-media paintings that blend abstraction with subtle hints of realism. My process is intuitive and layered—I add, remove, and rework paint until color and texture start to tell their own story. Those two elements are the heart of my work and what continually inspire me.
Through my paintings, I aim to tell stories that evoke joy, curiosity, and connection, inviting viewers to pause and find something new each time they look.
